After a visit to Italy, the Birthplace of the Real Estate Agent, we were quick to see the differences in how the Sales transaction takes place between the 2 Countries.
In Italy the Seller traditionally approaches the Real Estate Agent with an Offer - "If you want to sell my house, here are the terms."
This is very different from the typical Australian scenario, where the Seller normally calls out 3 Real Estate Agents and gets 3 different points of view to consider and hopefully pick the best choice.
When the Australian way was explained to our Italian friends, they were quick to point out, "but hang on a minute, it is their house, they are in control."
